We slept in until 9:30 and got on the road around 11. We didn't have much planned other than the concert.
We decided to spend a few hours in German Village which is a historic part of the city. It's easy to tell you are inside German Village by the brick streets, sidewalks, and buildings. We had lunch in an authentic German restaurant called Schmidt's Sausage Haus. This restaurant was featured Man vs. Food on Food Network. The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. Where else is there a 30 minute wait at 1:30pm on a Saturday. We passed the time by visiting their gift shop in which two guys were making homemade fudge. Pretty cool.
After German Village, we checked into our hotel to get set for Kenny Chesney. We arrived as the first act was getting started. We had pretty good seats considering it was a stadium concert. The second act was Eli Young Band who no later finished their set and there was an announcement for fans to leave the stands to take cover because of inclement weather. I had already headed back under the stands to get some food. As I was heading back into the tunnel, literally thousands of people flooded the tunnel thus separating me from getting to Hillary. Let me tell you that standing and holding a carrier of food and drinks while being packed into the tunnel like sardines was a treat. About an hour later Hillary finally got my text message of where I was an slowly made her way to me. I was just happy I still had cold food for her to eat and didn't spill everything on some drunk person stumbling around.
The delay lasted about 90 minutes and Eric Church got going right alway and played a hell of a show! Of course Kenny Chesney did not disappoint. The stadium was 70,000 strong and sang every word to every song even though everyone (but us) was soaking wet. We were the losers who brought rain coats and were damn happy we did!
